Arts & Museums:
bringing CULTURE AND history to life
We specialise in editing, proofing and translating arts and cultural texts in English and French as well as other languages. It takes a high level of skill, sensitivity and insider knowledge to work in this technical area, and we have the experience and passion to ensure your copy is pristine and makes sense to your audience. Our clients include France Muséums, the Horniman Museum, NPUAE, the Venice Biennale, and various independent artists.
We understand gallery audiences and how to interpret and edit the information on panels and object labels in museum galleries. As a text editor, it is important to unite the tone and voice of content from various curators, keeping the audience and accessibility in mind. We work with the museum to devise a style guide as well as chairing workshops to guide the museum's writers. We put tracking systems in place to manage the flow of work and to keep everyone on schedule during a project, and demonstrate diplomacy when liaising with authors. We also guide community groups and accessibility groups at museums, holding workshops to help them understand how to interpret objects into text.
"Zoe is very positive and easy to work with, consistently responding to feedback and changes with a calm attitude. Zoe showed great diplomacy and sensitivity in the editing process, as well as in her communication directly with the authors. I personally enjoyed her can-do attitude and knew that we could rely on her attention to detail and judgement."
